COVID19 is unlikely to cause serious illness in children, please remember children can still become unwell from other causes. Please do not let concerns over COVID19 stop you from contacting medical assistance. For advice contact 111 or your GP, or if your child is severely unwell call 999 or go to A&E.
Please note that it is not a GPs responsibility to issue school letters of absence for your children. Government guidance is that school attendance is mandatory unless your child is either:
- self-isolating
- has symptoms of COVID-19
- is close to someone who has COVID-19.
